The Aston Martin DB9 has first made its appearance in the market officially in 2003 at the prestigious Frankfurt Auto Show. 

Aston Martin DB9 as a coupe and the Volante

The car was made available in two models like it was available in the form of a coupe and in the form of the Volante.

The Ashton Martin DB9 was followed by DB7. This model is regarded as the first model that has been built at Gaydon facility of Aston Martin.

Design of Ashton Martin DB9

The DB9 was designed by Henrik Fisker and Ian Callum. It is made mainly of aluminium. The chassis of the car is the VH platform, and this platform is also present in another car of Aston Martin – the Ashton Martin DBS. The engine of the car is 6.0L V12, and this is the same engine used for the V12 Vanquish of Ashton Martin. The most recent version of Aston Martin offers a top speed of 295 km/h (183 mph) and a 0 to 97 km/h (60 mph) time of 4.1 seconds.

Both these cars are lightened versions of DB9. The interior features are removed for these cars. The body panels that are made by aluminium have been replaced by carbon fibre panels.
