2015 BMW X3 Makes its Debut in India
BMW, the German luxury car maker, has launched its new SUV called X3 in India. This beautiful and compact car was launched in the west a few months ago. The car will be locally produced in the Chennnai plant of BMW. It is only the diesel version of the car that will be sold for the time being. There are two variants of this car, namely BMW X3 xDrive priced at INR 44,90000 and xDrive 20d xLine that is priced at INR 49,90000. This car is available in white and seven other beautiful colors. These colors are Glacier Silver, Space Grey, Black Sapphire, Melbourne Red, Deep Sea Blue, and Sparkling Brown.
BMW X3 is the beginning of a new era for BMW India
On the occasion of the launch of BMW x3, Philipp von Sahr, India President of BMW told the reporters that the company is planning to expand the product range in India to strengthen the presence of BMW. He told media persons that the BMW cars that are lined up for launch in India next are M3 sedan, M5, and M4 Coupe. He added that the customers would get an option in terms of upholstery as they can get it in different colors like Black, Saddle Brown, Beige, and Mocha. Sahr said that there are plans to introduce BMW hybrid car i8 in 2014 itself. BMW X3 is the third generation of this very popular SUV with the first model having been introduced way back in 2003. The second version of this car was introduced in 2011. To bolster the sales, BMW is planning to increase the number of its dealers from the present 37 to 50. BMW India is presently making 4 of its cars in the Chennai plant. These are 1 Series, 3 Series, and X1 and X3.
Changes introduced in the new model
The new BMW X3 introduces many changes from its predecessor. These include new designs of the grille, bumpers, allow wheel design, headlamps, and ORVM’s. The latest Sports Activity Vehicle has all new interiors with new cup holders and a glossy finish for the central console. As far as dimensions are concerned, BMW X3 is 4657mm long, 1881mm wide, and 1678mm high. You get a new feature of electronic opening of the tailgate in the BMW X3. This car is powered by 2.0 liter 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine that delivers 187.3BHP of power. It is capable of producing 400Nm of torque.
