Renault Caravelle, A Classic Beauty

If you do not like classic automobiles, take a look at this Renault Caravelle, and you might change your mind.

This particular vehicle came out in 1958, and they produced as many as 117.000 of them in the next decade. Another interesting tidbit about this car is that it was advertised as “Renault Floride” everywhere outside of the United States and Great-Britain until 1962. Renault was envious of Volkswagen’s growing success in the States (with the famous Bug/Bettle), and the Caravelle was supposed to be the next “big thing”. Although that did not happen, the car had a good run.
